Towards the end of my wedding season last year I travelled a few hours North for an absolute corker of a wedding.
Nestled away, to my mind in the middle of what seemed like nowhere, was the marvelous Iscoyd Park wedding venue. It was a real pleasure to work there, and I’m a little sad that I’m not more local so as to make it a regular venue!
I headed inside for bridal preparation photographs before the ceremony started. The wedding had a distinct vintage feel, from the bride’s dress and the groom’s suit all the way down to the table plan. It was yet another highlight from an amazing year!
Throughout bridal prep I noticed a pretty large mirror on one of the walls. I always like to try shooting with mirrors when they’re available but the results can be hit and miss depending on the conditions. From certain angles with some mirrors you can achieve this unusual doubling effect that can be seen in this photograph. It’s not always appropriate for the picture, but I felt like this combined with a black and white conversion added to the vintage feel for a bridal preparation photograph that was something different!
