You may notice that since the start of the ‘What it Means to Me’ series the images have all been in black and white, and this one is no exception. They won’t all be monochrome, but as I’ve mentioned in the past it’s a style that I really love, and one that I believe resonates with my passion for focusing on the emotions of the wedding day.
Today’s ‘What it Means to Me’ isn’t the most technically superb image from this particular wedding day. It’s not particularly complicated either. But I really love it, and that’s because it all comes back to the emotion.
This is a picture from Jade and Damian’s wedding back in October (I’ve yet to write a full blog on this) at Cripps Barn near Bibury. Whilst the bulk of their day happened over at Cripps, this was taken from the bridal prep session in The Swan Hotel (located in the middle of Bibury). Bridal prep can can often be a (understandably) very nervous time for the bride, in which case it can be full of subtle moments that you really need to keep a keen eye-out for – this is how it tends to be most of the time actually. This shot isn’t about subtlety; I love this picture for the laughter and sincerity of the moment.
