I’ve visited Berkeley a couple of times in the last few years for weddings. It’s comparatively local for me so that’s always a bonus! But aside from that it also has two fantastic venues – Berkeley Castle (I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding there back in April 2018) and The Barn at Berkeley. The latter was completely new to me when I photographed this fantastic wedding in September of last year.
It’s a brilliant place for a wedding and I thoroughly enjoyed working there. I especially enjoyed shooting part of the reception where the guests were all invited into a warehouse full of massive slides and soft-play for grown-ups (yep, that really happened – pictures to follow in the future…)!
The highlight of the whole day by far though was working with this lovely bride and groom, both of whom were completely and utterly living in the moment and enjoying their day.
A favourite of mine from this wedding is today’s picture. It’s that moment of the ceremony that can really tug at the heartstrings as the father of the bride “gives away” his daughter. I was really pleased to get this shot, which captures that special split second moment as the ceremony gets started.
