A previous ‘What it Means to Me’ entry also included a rainy-day wedding picture, and you’d be forgiven for thinking that I actually quite like it when it rains on a wedding day. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a pain for group shots, it’s a shame for the couple, and any outdoor plans go firmly down the pan but it doesn’t stop me from looking for fun pictures to capture the events. In today’s ‘What it Means to Me’ I’m looking at a shot from last year in Bath, which was taken just outside The Little Theatre where the bride and groom’s ceremony was held. As soon as we left the ceremony the rain came down and it didn’t really relent for most of the day. Fortunately the wedding party were prepared with their brollies at the ready! As the guests all mingled outside, champagne and popcorn (to go with the ‘movies’ theme) were all handed out to get the celebrations into full swing. I was just about to take the bride and bridesmaids back into the cinema for a quick group shot (they’re behind me here, under the cover of the box office) at which point I saw the groom at the far right and his groomsmen all with their umbrellas, champagne and popcorn.
Rain can make for some fun pictures!
