Door 9: Leaving the Ceremony
Fujifilm X-Pro 2 – 23mm 1.4 – 1/160sec – f/2.8 – ISO1250
‘Recessional’ seems a bit formal for this one. Not entirely fitting for the picture I don’t think…
Here we have a picture from the end of a ceremony at a wedding I was photographing at the Hilton in Tewkesbury. It’s an image that was taken back in May this year (and was one of the first wedding photography sessions shot with the Fujifilm X-Pro 2 without the aid of any Canon gear, for any photographers out there). I love the expressions from the bride and groom in this photograph. What really makes this picture work for me though is that there wasn’t really time for them to glance over at each other as they were pulling these faces (they were walking down the aisle pretty quickly). They just happened to be making very similar expressions at exactly the same time; perhaps a sign that they’re well and truly in-sync?
Well, that’s how I like to think of it anyway.
I like a recessional from a ceremony that shows some unfiltered happiness, and I’d say this sits amongst that category.
