Door 2: Take My Hand
Fujifilm X-Pro 2 – 56mm 1.2 – 1/125sec – f/1.4 – ISO 200
A simple image today, but one that I’m quite fond of. It wasn’t going to be long before I posted a black and white wedding photography image (I held out for a whole day!) but here’s one that you won’t have seen on my portfolio or blog…(at the time of writing). As per yesterday’s post we’re back at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham, although I suppose for this image the venue context isn’t quite so important. I’d just gone back up to the bridal suite having seen the groomsmen and was in the process of capturing the final stages of the bride having her dress laced-up at which point one of the bridesmaids took her hand. To me, it’s a lovely gesture of support and friendship in this understated photograph for what is undoubtedly an exciting and nerve-wracking moment. Wedding photography can convey a plethora of emotions in the most simple of images, and for me this is an example of ‘less is more’.
