I love the evening reception at weddings. No matter where we are; a marquee somewhere, Manor by the Lake, Wyck Hill House, Clearwell Castle…it doesn’t matter. If people get on the dance floor after the first dance it’s always fun. The reportage / candid style that I tend to shoot works especially well at this part of the day – it’s always brilliant to get stuck right into the middle of the party, camera in one hand, flash in the other, and capture everyone letting their hair down. Typically speaking people don’t pay too much attention to the camera for the majority of the day, but at this point it’s the last thing on the guests minds so it’s the perfect opportunity to get some exciting pictures.
I’ve chosen 20 shots from weddings throughout last year from a whole host of different venues in and around Cheltenham / Gloucestershire (and a couple not so local). I’ll do another post on some of these ’20 Frames’ topics later this year with some more from our most recent weddings. Enjoy!
